Maintaining a natural grass lawn in a wooded backyard is a constant battle. Shade, root competition, and uneven terrain make it nearly impossible to get grass to grow consistently - and even when it does, you're mowing, watering, and patching it year-round. A lot of homeowners hit a point where they just want a yard that looks good without the constant upkeep.
That's exactly what this backyard was all about. The space had great bones - mature trees, a screened porch, a stone retaining wall, and a paver patio - but the lawn itself wasn't pulling its weight. We came in with a full landscape design plan and built the whole thing around what the homeowners actually needed: a clean, usable outdoor space that stays green no matter what.
The artificial turf we installed wraps naturally around the existing trees and flows alongside the mulch beds and retaining wall. That kind of layout takes careful planning. You can't just roll out turf and call it a day - the cuts have to be precise, the edges have to be clean, and the grade has to be right so water drains properly. We handle all of that as part of the installation process.
What really makes this one stand out is how well everything works together. The dark mulch beds, the stone border along the retaining wall, the paver patio - the turf ties it all together without competing with any of it. It looks intentional because it was. Every element was designed to complement the others.
This is the kind of backyard that actually gets used. No mowing schedule, no brown patches in the summer, no muddy spots after rain. Just a clean, green space ready to go whenever you are. That's the whole point of what we do.
